Blog Party and a Charade

I have a couple of things to celebrate, Beautiful People, so I am throwing a blog party – everyone is invited!

A few days ago, I received two messages from WordPress.

followed-blog-500-2x

First of all, I was informed that I now have more than 500 followers. I thank all of you, my readers, my faithful followers! I am honored to have attracted your interest and I am humbled by this number!

post-milestone-200-2x

Secondly, I haven’t realized that I have already created more than 200 posts, in less than seven months. It might not be a whole lot, but to me it is a milestone, and I don’t plan to stop there!

To show my appreciation and my gratitude to all of you, I am serving Festiv-e-Teas (please see here) and Chocolate on Chocolate Cookies with Extra Blessings (please see here).

ginger-cat

And here is a charade for your entertainment: my granddaughter made this ceramic cat for me when she was about five years old. Believe me, it is the most precious cat in my collection! A few days ago, my husband brought this piece of ginger that not only looked like a cat, but, when put face to face with Alisia’s ceramic one, looked like an unadorned, but close cousin.

So here is the deal, Beautiful People: respond to this two-cat charade in any way you want. Poems, stories, pictures, and, of course, recipes – just send me a link in the comments to this post. I will post your response with a link to your blog.

Socialize and have fun – everyone is welcome in my kitchen!

Congratulations on those milestones! What a cute cat (and how talented!) Alisia made! How adorable! And the organic one… just call it a Ginger Kitty!” 🙂

    1. Thank you! Truthfully, Alisia is a talented writer, singer, dancer, and gymnast, but not an artist. Just like me, she can draw, but not paint. The cat is precious to me because she made it for me!

It calls for ginger biscuits (cat shaped, perhaps?) The simplest recipe:
    Proper way:
    Ingredients:
110g margarine ( plus some extra for greasing), 110g caster sugar, 110g golden syrup, 225g self-raising flour, 2 tsp ground ginger and a pinch of salt and white pepper.
Method: melt the margarine (or vegan butter-if using nut butter the taste will be different, so don’t use anything overpowering), add sugar and golden syrup. When it’s cooled down, add the dry ingredients. Roll out, cut out the cat shape (if difficult to handle, put in the fridge for half an hour), place on a greased tray. Bake for 10-12 mins in 180C (fan)
    My way:
Right, I don’t follow recipes, so I normally do it like that: 1 part of the first 3 ingredients, and 2 parts of flour (any extras: no more than 3 tsp as it’ll change the consistency). Bake till it’s baked 🙂
Tastes even better with rhubarb custard 🙂

    1. I posted your recipe – thank you so much! There is ginger in the tea, you know, otherwise I would’ve offered another charade (I have a few of them collected). https://koolkosherkitchen.wordpress.com/2016/12/13/ginger-biscuits-by-alex/

I have never thought I can see a recipe ‘by me’. I love cooking, but everyone who knows me would laugh! If my friends like something they know it’s close to impossible to get a recipe. I simply don’t remember what I put there…thank you, Dolly, that’s made my day 🙂

  13. So if you were to ask my family I don’t cook, I burn things. But I have taken a few recipes and combined them together. With every cold snap we having I cook a pot for me and my husband. My kids won’t eat it, they’re big fans of dinosaur nuggets and hot dogs though.

    Creamy Potato Soup

    One box of Chicken Stock
One bag of cubed frozen potatoes (sometimes my hubby cuts fresh)
    One can cream of chicken
Water (usually one 16.9 ounce bottle)

Bring all that to boil, then add the following:

    Egg Dumplings
(3 Tablespoons of flour to one egg, mixed together with fork and dropped into pot.)
I usually do four eggs worth.

Cream Cheese (one silver box worth)

Stir occasionally until cream cheese melts.

Top with bacon and cheese. I add onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste to my bowls. My hubby doesn’t care for that stuff too much so it has to stay out of the pot.

I have a web page, http://www.brickleyjules.wordpress.com where I share your stuff and do some blogging about my books.

Those kitties are too adorable!! Are you “paws”ative they’re just cousins??
    Maybe fraternal twins??

    1. Thank you so much, Melinda! Someone already called them “doppel-gingers.” I am trying to collect all the little contributions, like captions, jokes, memes, and such, into one post, so give me something! Unless you want me to use “fraternal twins”?

      1. You’re welcome. “Doppel-gingers” is “purr”-fect!! Yes, fraternal twins is all I got, sadly.

      2. I didn’t mean to knock it down, but I guess because my step-kids are fraternal twins, I didn’t even see it as a joke – my bad! Sorry, Melinda!

I’ll send it to your email. Later tho. Gotta go get girls.

Thanks, Dolly. I appreciate it! I feel silly to ask, but I’m not sure I know the meaning of “charade”. I’ll ask in case any more shy people also don’t know, so that they can also learn.
