G…uest 22: For a Sweet Year

Dear Beautiful People, this is a guest post I did for the awesome, great and wonderful Esme the Recipe Hunter. It is a compilation of all my traditional Rosh Hashana recipes, and you have them on time to try some of them, if you so desire.
A quick update: Hurricane Irma came and went without causing too much damage to South Beach where we stubbornly stayed, at home with three cats. We lost power, though, so the moment roads became safe to travel, we joined our friends who do have electricity, and are about to start making delicious Hawaiian Poke (see here) https://koolkosherkitchen.wordpress.com/2017/07/10/did-maui-poke-the-big-fish/).
We are fine, and so are the kitties!

I am extremely grateful to dear Esmé for having me as a guest on her blog and giving me this opportunity to share my Rosh Hashanah recipes. Contrary to a common belief that Rosh Hashanah is  Jewish New Year, it isn’t really so.  It is the beginning of the 7th month of the Jewish calendar, rather than the first, and it literally means The Head of the Year.

  6. Glad to read you and your loved ones are safe. Mother nature sent Irma as a tropical storm to us here in the Atlanta metro. We’re a little wet but OK.

    1. Thank you, dear Mel! It may sound funny in the aftermath of it all, but our friends in Atlanta kept insisting that we evacuate and stay with them, and then you guys got hit by a storm!
