Fake Napoleon by Request

According to https://foodimentary.com, today is National Vanilla Pudding Day. Since I have only one recipe where I use vanilla pudding, here it is, Beautiful People. Enjoy!

My husband (AKA The Boss) requested Napoleon. I obliged, but cheated. Presenting a lip-smacking, but totally Fake Napoleon, by request:

fake napoleon 1.jpg

I had a leftover of Phyllo dough, about 6 -7 sheets. I thought it would be enough, and it was. The trick is to mist each sheet with oil before placing the next one on top.

I cut the stack of oiled Phyllo sheets into rectangular pieces, about 1 by 2 inches (2.5 by 5 cm), just because I didn’t want to bother cutting a crumbling flaky cake later on. This yielded eight nice size pastries. While they are baking, Beautiful People, please enjoy Judy’s adorable poem. I won’t tell you how it has inspired me to bake this totally fake, albeit scrumptious Napoleon. You’ll have to read and discover for yourselves, then come back for the rest of the recipe.

I can’t get over how intuitive you are!!!🤗

    1. Why am I intuitive? Perhaps my black cat really is my familiar, as my husband calls him, and he whispers stuff into my ear?

      8. The OTHER ONES, you mean! They are twins, and they haven’t exactly gotten used to a rumbunctious toddler yet, so I AM giving her plenty of attention.

      10. Ah, but that’s the issue: the older ones are siblings, and they haven’t exactly accepted the baby as a part of the family, although now, when she is much larger, they are starting to pay attention to her. Just like kids, aren’t they!

Oh no! I am way across the country….it will ruin. Do Not Worry About It…I just saw this and thought of you immediately while shopping for my giveaways. I purchased two, so I for you, one for giveaway. I think the only thing that will make it to here is cookies. My mother in law used to send us a package almost every month from Italy, with those delicious italian cookies. The kids used to get so excited to see the UPS man. They didn’t call him the UPS man, but the ups man. ;))) I love the recipes you have on your blog and have tried a few of them with wonderful success. That is your gift to me!!

      16. I was thinking in terms of energy balls, since South Florida is called tha land of fruits and nuts, but if cookies make it all the way from Italy, cookies it will be!

        Thank you MEOW much!
I don’t have to, but I want to, as soon as I get my kitchen back with new ceiling and floor. Right now I am breathing dust and cooking hot dogs in the microwave, but hopefully, in a couple of weeks I’ll be back in my little kingdom.

      20. I haven’t been posting much new staff, if you have noticed, and I do have some recipes that I haven’t posted yet. It’s dust and the sound of demolition that are driving me up the wall, but the result will be worth it!
Wait for the pic , please! I need to do my nails first!

        Liked by 1 person

      24. I hope I am not too confusing: Eva is not my daughter-in-law. Yes, my daughter-in-law, whose photo you see, does have a little cute doggie, but her taste is very specific, so I don’t ever presume to buy anything for the house or even clothes for the kids, other than headbands and bows. Morocco has a beautiful, but very different culture!

      26. They are here, but my daughter-in-law is Moroccan, and very much culturally Moroccan, with a very specific taste in everything. I have to say that it is a very rich and exotic culture, and very beautiful.

      37. I saw two days, but perhaps there was more, I don’t know. I’ve escaped from noise, dust, and chemicals to a friend’s apartment where there is no Wi-Fi, so now I might be unaccessible for a few days. This is very exciting, but it’s taking a bit of a toll on me.
