Chocolate Cake

I couldn’t help but share Judy’s delightful, delicious poem with you, Beautiful People. Not to leave your chocolate craving unfulfilled, here is a quick recipe for you: https://koolkosherkitchen.wordpress.com/2016/12/21/cake-pops-cake-in-10-minutes/

Chocolate

You’re being good and I am not.
I broke my diet and got caught.
I’d have resisted if I could,
but chocolate cake just looked so good.

I bought a piece, not a whole cake.
I thought a meal of it I’d make.
But now you feel you must rebut
my obvious need for chocolate.

Will you soon go? It’s getting late,
and there’s this chocolate on my plate.
And though I know it’s impolite,
the chances that I’ll share are slight.

Of your smug lecture I’ve had enough
and now it’s my turn to be tough.
If you must fall from your high throne
and dine on cake, go buy your own!

The prompt word today is slight.

I have been absent for several weeks whilst I effected a rather major move. Now that I am settled it is a pleasure to be able to dip back into the blog-pool and over time I will catch up with all I have missed. And of course, write some of my own too, though that may be construed as a threat rather than a delight 😉 A real delight is to be greeted with chocolate cake …. thank you Dolly – it shall be made!!!

    1. Threats like this I can take every day! Nice of you to stop by, dear Osyth, and thank you for a lovely comment.
What about the historic house you were in the process of restoring? Was that the move, or was it something different? I hope you don’t feel that I am prying.

Of course you aren’t prying! La Maison Carrèe (or la Maison Catastrophe as I generally refer to it) is ongoing. It forms part of the move but the greater part is to be revealed later in the week so, my lovely curious cat, you shall have to wait a teeny whole longer! PS: Now that the move is done, I can buy your book. I’ve been sitting on my paws for far too long and you can guarantee I shall be writing reviews whereso’ere you want them scattered 🙂

      2. I am a curious cat, but I’ll bite my paw and wait! Whatever the move is, or was, I hope it’s a happy one!
Thank you for considering buying my book, dear friend!

Oh I was always going to buy it but my life was very disrupted from October to April and I didn’t want it to get lost in the chaos! Happy indeed it is and thank you for always being so kind! I was talking about you the other day when in conversation about helping disadvantaged young people. You are a shining example of what can be achieved. The person I was talking to hales from Kiev, by the way x

      4. In Odessa, we used to say that it’s ok to be from Kiev; you can meet some good people there, too. Sometimes. Please do not relate this joke to your friend from Kiev!
I thank you for always being so supportive, dear Osyth!

If it’s anything like Cork and Dublin in Ireland those from Kiev may say the same about Odessa …. I won’t breathe a word though, I promise. And. Dolly. I support because I want to – I believe you to be an extremely clever and caring person and I am privileged to call you a friend even though we have never met in person … isn’t this place we inhabit as bloggers wonderful?

      6. I know what people from Kiev say about Odessa: those who are not thieves, are con men; those who are not thieves or con men, are blatantly arrogant. Honestly, there is a grain of truth in it – arrogant we are.
There is also one specifically about Odessa women: they are the most beautiful; if they are not the most beautiful, they are the smartest; if they are not the most beautiful or the smartest, they always complain of some malady or another, but regardless of all of that, they are the best cooks. Again, arrogant we are!
I truly value your support and I am honored to be your friend!

      2. Coffee and chocolate are best friends! I make macchiato for my husband every morning by using fresh ground Columbian medium roast with whipped coconut cream, marked by chocolate.

      3. Coffee has never been so big as it is nowadays. The flavors, grinds, recipes are all surely more than waker uppers, but a draw to comfort and universal dialogue. On a closing note: You have a lucky husband my dear.❤❤❤❤❤

      4. I don’t know how long is your nowadays, but we had a coffee culture 50 years ago, with all kinds of interesting techniques and recipes, as well as hot arguments about the merits of hand grinder vs. electric one. I still have a copper jezvah from those times.
P.S. In general, husbands are only lucky if they are well chosen, and it very much depends on how is doing the choosing. 😺
