Today’s Word Prompt is ANTICIPATE https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/anticipate/
Anticipating an impending visit from Irma the Hurricane, people stock up on vitally important supplies: local Walmarts ran out of beer and water. We are well stocked with wine, rum, and chocolate, but adding ice cream to this list wouldn’t hurt. Since today is a National Coffee Ice Cream Day (https://foodimentary.com/2017/09/06/september-6th-is-national-coffee-ice-cream-day/), but sadly, my recipe does not have any coffee in it, please be creative, Beautiful People, and throw some finely ground espresso into the mix. Enjoy and stay safe!
First Harvey, now Irma… what next? Ice cream is what many people eat when stressed so makes sense to include it here!

Ah, I didn’t even think of it that way! My husband gobbles it up stress-or-no-stress!

We are totally fine, and we didn’t evacuate. How did you make out, Melinda? Are you ok?

Oh whew! I know you’re at the beach, and I was concerned. So glad you’re ok!!
All good here! A small leak in the living room, where they had previously patched it. Someone won’t get the job this time! lol
I didn’t even lose power.

I am so happy for you! I was concerned when I saw that Impetuous Irma was heading up your way! And then we lost power, so I couldn’t even get in touch. Take care of yourself, girl friend!

Since coffee ice cream is my favorite, I can *believe* I missed celebrating National Coffee Ice Cream Day! Oh well, I’ll simply have to celebrate late – by taking your suggestion to add some espresso powder to your recipe. Chocolate AND coffee – almost heaven on earth!

I need to remember to freeze bananas. Good for smoothies too.

Yes, and bananas do not have to be completely frozen; 30 minutes is enough.

Can they be frozen *before* they start to go soft and gooey? Before they ripen? Will they work the same in the recipes?
I’d stock up when they are on sale if that were the case – but many of the ones in my Krogers are green, and I don’t have a lot of storage options for letting bananas ripen in the kitchen here.

They don’t have to go over to be frozen, but they have to be ripe. If you freeze them before they ripen, the most you can do with them is fry them like plantains.

That was what I was afraid of. Thanks for letting me know.

Nothing to be afraid of – just deal with things as they are.

My thinking is that one shouldn’t be afraid of anything small because you are big, so they should be afraid of you. However, one also shouldn’t be afraid of anything big because smaller humans (with brain attached!) always have an advantage of something big and dumb, humans and animals alike. Huge animals are usually harmless if they don’t feel threatened. Ergo, there is no reason to be afraid of anyone or anything because everything is in His hand anyway! 😻

Yes, because we believe in “gam zu l’toivo” – “and this is for the good.” Also, in more modern times, the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s favorite advice was “Tracht git – vet zein git” – “Think well, and all will be well.” The power of positive thinking, or the law of attraction, if you will. 😸

Doin’ my best to “think well” – despite more than a little bit of evidence to the contrary with my LL – lol.
