Hello, Ovid! Я вам не скажу про всю Одессу…

How are we to celebrate the funniest holiday of all, Beautiful People, when we are desperately trying to keep positive and not to run out of toilet paper – now, that would be a true catastrophe! I suggest that the more jokes we crack, the easier it will be to get through the challenge, while keeping healthy and safe!

I am only doing a bi-lingual post twice: as they say in Odessa, “the first time which is already the last.” I am only doing it because of a phenomenal blogger and a wonderful blogofriend Brigitta Moro who magically blogs in Russian and Ukrainian and who has shared very thorough, research-based information about April 1 right here.  ” I won’t tell you about the entire Odessa,” as we sing, but, dear Brigitta, as promised, on April 1, I am declaring an official protest on behalf of The International Club of Odessites because our Humorina did not make it into your fabulous post.

  2. I have to excuse again, for a late revisit, Dolly! Sorry! I hope you are staying well and save. You mentioned the toilet paper, too. Lol I think this is the true pandemic, or the virus is a producer of toilet paper, and wants one to buy it. Jokes away, its horrible, and you mentioned Ovid i very “loved” during Latin studies. Lol However, a beautiful posting, with a lot of new food, for my brain, too. Best wishes! Stay save and well. Michael

    1. Thank you so much, dear Mimi!
The part which is true is that Ovid did land on the spot where Odessa now stands, but he only spent about two weeks there. He relocated to what is now Constanza, Romania, lived there for the rest of his life, and wrote a lot, including the Metamorphoses.
Be well and stay safe, dear friend!

  4. I didn’t read this until 2nd. Does it count? 🙂

  5. Marvelous! The internet does well at bringing all of you Odessites together! And on April 1st! That lovely table setting does not appear to be a joke but a serious dining invite. 🤔Cheers!❤️

    1. Thank you so much, dear friend! Yes, there is a standing invite to all my blogofriends to visit us in Sunny Florida, when the current calamity is over, and partake of my culinary exploits.
Be well and stay safe, darling!
