I am dragging another blogofriend to the party, whether she wants to or not! Please welcome Elizabeth of The Comfortable Coop and the proud owners of a newly built farmstead, Freckles and Penguin.
Elizabeth, I hope you forgive me for using your title and photo to introduce you to the crowd! Come on, put your dancing shoes on and join the party!

Dolly, I’m honored! I hate to admit it but I keep watching the funny little video at the end of the post! Freckles and Penguin crack me up!

Dear Elizabeth, I hate to admit it, but I seem to remember the original plan for Freckles and Penguin. I don’t think there is a chance of a duck stew anytime soon, is there! They are adorable and hilarious!

LOL I know, I know. They are definitely not freezer bound now. I actually put a chair in the play area and sit with them. I have, however, warned my city boy that the ducklings are dinner!

I am taking The 5th on this statement for now!

I will keep one duck to replace Freckles when she gets older but probably get a Pekin to replace Penguin.

How long do they live, usually?

Up to ten years. I think when they’re older I’m going to have Mr. C build them a house away from the younger ducks. I don’t want them being bullied.

Then you’ll have a whole duck community, in their own houses, visiting neighbors, having block parties…

ROFL! I’ll be the old duck lady instead of the cat lady!

You’ll be the Queen of the Duck Manors!

And the ducks shall all gather before my throne to hear which of them live on to breed and which of them go to that special “White House” in the Queen’s palace! LOL

And all of them bow down to Her Majesty’s will and happily jump into a pot to be featured on His Majesty’s table. 😻

*sigh* Why do I have the feeling Mr C is turning me from a farmer to a city girl?
LikeLiked by 1 person
That’s because it’s much easier to live this way. What do I know, though; I am a city girl born and bred… 😻

It’s less work for sure! LOL

Exactly – that’s what I meant!

I just don’t think I can lose the farm girl in me. Mr. C thinks I’m crazy but I LIKE doing all the “icky” stuff.

Husbands are like that! Mine keeps grouching about my exhausting myself in the kitchen – we can buy all the ready-made stuff, after all! – but then he sits down and gobbles it up.

This sounds like mine. Don’t kill yourself! I’ll eat anything!” Then it’s “We should have this again! It inky took you four hours, right?” LOL

Did they go to the same husband school?

I think they give them manuals in college..

Is that what it is? My son went to one of those colleges where girls had to take “Find-a-husband – 101” as a prerequisite to “How to Be a Jewish Princess – 102” but I didn’t know there were husband manuals as well. Let’s get a hold of one and do some editing!

Yes. I went to college to get my MRS degree. I should have gone with something better…like Art History. But at least the first prepared me to recognize a good guy when I found him! And the manual needs a complete re-write!

Elizabeth is a wonderful friend!! And those ducks are quackers!!

Just to think that a while ago she was swearing up and down that they were going to end up in a pot! Goes to show you that one never knows when one ends up in a mansion instead.

IKR??!! Now they own her heart, and their own estate! lol

Pretty soon they’ll have babies, and she is already making plans to build a nursery. So funny!

That’s hilarious!! No Peking duck??

I think she has mentioned that she would get one for breeding, rather than cooking, but you’ll have to ask her.
