Blog Party: Eat, Drink, and Play Charades

I am throwing a party, Beautiful People, and you are invited! A few days ago I realized that this blog has gathered 300+ followers. I decided right there and then to celebrate it by having a blog party. Ā I thought I would get that cute Bing! from the WordPress telling me about it, but it still hasn’t come. Meanwhile, I have everything ready for a party, so I am following the immortal dictum of the Russian scientist I. Michurin: “We cannot wait for favors from nature,” and I am opening the doors of this blog for THE PARTY!

thank20you20cat20lick

This is my way of saying Thank You to all of you, Beautiful People! Thank you for your likes, thank you for your comments, and most of all, thank you for taking the time to follow and read the stuff this funky cat puts together! I have never expected it to be like this, and I am awed by the sheer numbers, not to mention truly humbled by your kind and generous comments!

So open the door and come on in! There are Monster ChoCo cookies (for recipe, click here), there are delicious Dairy Free Irish Cream drinks (for recipe, click here), and there is live music.

Please welcome my student Kettler Macome. He is originally from Haiti. His father founded the first music school in Haiti, open to all who have talent. Kettler came to the U.S. to earn his teaching degree, and then he is planning to go back to teach talented kids in his father’s school.

Everybody is having cookies and drinks? Everybody is enjoying cool jazz? Ready for some party games? Here comes Ā a CHARADE!

In case you think I am holding one apple on top of the other, here is another angle.

Siam tw apples 3.jpg

This is what you have to do:

  1. Leave a link to your blogs in comments.
  2. Reblog this post. By doing it, you will let me know that you are playing.
  3. Compose a post about these apples (or apple?). It could be anything you want: a poem, a quote, a drawing, a recipe (of course!), music, or even a title for this photo, in any language. Post it on your blog and let me know. I will then reblog it on mine.

This is not a challenge, and I am not nominating anybody. Networking helps everybody, so participate at will and have fun!

Mix, Beautiful People, mix!

Oh, this is a cool idea. I will meditate on the apple(s). Guy can play the sax!

I’m at the day-old cookingandbrewing.com — currently just a couple food recipes, but eventually some home brewing recipes/brew logs, DIY projects for cooking, brewing, eating and drinking, and (hopefully) relevant food and beer stuff.

    Thanks for putting this together!

Congratulations on 300! And you were my 100th ‘like’ on MY blog just now! And I did get a bing from wordpress instantly – maybe they bing likes milestones quicker than follower milestones šŸ˜€. I haven’t had the likes facility on my my blog for that long so I am very happy it has reached 100 now. So sad that I can’t come to the party though! I am on wordpress.org and the reblog facility isn’t available to me . I’m all dressed up with nowhere to go ā˜¹ļø. Have a great time everyone – I will watch you all through the window. šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‚šŸ¾šŸ·

    1. Congratulations on 100 likes, and best wishes for many more! You can absolutely come to the party by posting your own response to the charade on your own site and sending me a link to it which I will reblog on mine. Everybody is welcome in my kitchen, and any response will do, even a title to the picture of twinny apples! As I now have more than 400 followers, it will give you that much exposure. šŸ™‚

Nice article ma’am. I have never been a party goer, maybe its from being so ugly no one would let me in. When I first started this blog (still my only one) in 2012 I was mostly just putting in poems that I had written for my creative writing classes in school. Since then I have cut way back on the poems so I am going to accept your apple challenge and see if I can come up with an apple poem for you. How will it turn out? As a very deer old friend of mine used to often say “we shall see what we shall see.” I hope you have a great, stay safe, God bless.

    1. Thank you so much! It is always a pleasure to hear from you. Please don’t call yourself ugly – ugliness is inside, as well as goodness, and I do not detect any ugliness in you, but only goodness! Welcome to the party!
